1971 में पाकिस्तान के साथ युद्ध करते हुए जो जवान वीरगति को प्राप्त हुए उनकी याद में देश की राजधानी दिल्ली में स्थित इंडिया गेट पर एक ज्योत जलाई गई थी, जिसे अमर जवान ज्योति के नाम से सम्भोधित किया गया, जो 50 सालों से उन जांबाज वीरों की वीरता के किस्से सुनाती थी, उसे वर्ष 2022 में गणतंत्र दिवस से पहले शुक्रवार को नेशनल वॉर मेमोरियल में शामिल किया गया, अतः अब अमर जवान ज्योति लौ अब इंडिया गेट पर दिखाई नहीं देगी।
